2019 Mid American Hickory Open

May 18-19
Soangetaha Country Club
Galesburg, IL

A new name and a new format for the former All American Hickory Open.

After receiving a warm welcome in 2018 we are excited to return to Soangetaha for 2019. Many of us fell in love with the Tom Bendelow course and found the parkland layout well suited to the hickory game. In particular we found it well suited for the pre 1935 format. Additionally, we found interest from new, local players in pre 1935. For those reasons we are adjusting our format to modern, pre-1935 only.

In addition to the standard two day stroke play format we will add a Four Man Scramble competition for those looking for a fun, stress free option.

This Country Club setting is beautifully maintained and has been host to a variety of prestigious events. Among them are the Illinois Men’s and Women’s Amateurs, the Illinois Men’s and Women’s Senior Amateurs and the National Left-Handed golfers Tournament. This mature course has a gently rolling topography with views of Lake Rice and interesting challenges on every hole.

The weather in May last year was spectacular and we hope you will join us to start your hickory season.
